National Public Health Week (NPHW) April 7-13, 2014--- 1 in 3 college women in the US has been a victim of physical, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner. 1 in 5 young women have been sexually assaulted while they're in college.
The following webisode is a presentation and public service media project from Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW): The HBCU Project.
The project was showcased as a web series at the 2013 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women's Health-- Health and Wellness for Women Attending Minority Institutions Initiative; and endorsed by three APHA Committees to include on Medical Care, Women's Caucus and Women's Rights. The series was developed to promote friendly, open and on-going conversations between HBCU students, faculty and staff about the prevention of violence against women-- starting with the topic of HBCU campus love and healthy relationships.
